Live Well - Travis County Medical Society (TCMS)

The TCMS section of Your Austin Address & Lifestyle is almost it's own magazine in that the editor is different, the content creators are different, ad sales are done separately and most of all : I was the Art Director. So, besides the fact that it is physically attached to YA A&L magazine, it is it's own entity.

This was the second issue we did with TCMS, but because of some editorial issues it required a complete redesign and the setting in stone of some styles that we could use in future issues. We came up with the name "Live Well" to capture the idea that it was more than a medical information section but a healthy living magazine. The name worked very well; it allowed us to transverse anything from outdoor activities in Austin, to information on flu shots or cancer research.

One of the issues is trying to keep the section from being too inundated with medical terminology and that sterile idea we all have of a doctor's office. These articles are at times intense so the entire section was kept light design-wise.
