5′8 White guy with no basketball experience (really, last played in3rd grade) got himself listed for the NBA draft. That means he could be picked. Its highly improbable (like impossible) but still very funny. Website has some humorous parts also…. I really should have done this.
You may or may not have heard about it, I’ve been hearing whisperings since before it was launched but never tried it out until yesterday.
So this review is very quick, but so far I love it.
I have been involved in more than one movie sharing site, a couple private movie trackers etc… but consider myself barely a pirate in comparison to some people. However, video is my nice, not software or games but tv shows and movies. Hulu.com is legal (provided by the studios themselves) and beats out every alternative. Flash video sites using youtube-like qualiy are a dime a dozen these days, and there are some with higher quality but still illegal, and they just aren’t very well fleshed out in terms of services.
Hulu has the money-backers of the studios so it has everything you need. I found it while looking for an episode of scrubs, just loaded it up, no buffering, no sign-up, just started watching. Very good quality too, and you can even go to 480p by clicking a link, might experience a little load time on a slower connection ( I did not).
You obviously have to put up with ads, but 1 30-second ad every 10 minutes on a tv show isn’t a problem, and in movies they are faced quite a bit farther apart than that. A minute and a half of ads for a 30 minute show? Yeah, the internet is slightly better than TV.
The service is still relatively new so I don’t know how fleshed out the archives are but the most popular movie list looks like a bunch of top-tier titles not stuff you would see on the superstation at 4am.
Overall, you should use it to see all the little things, like super-simple navigation. Great video player (full screen is perfect, no menu bars or anything, really quick, no delay) and a host of other options that only come from really refined sites which this one looks to be like a final product, well thought out and executed.
Its rare I give the studios props but I do here, they have cured me of my pirate-ism.
